The new work force of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy of Russia began work

On February 19, the first meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy of Russia was held in a new work force.

The meeting was attended by Aleksandr Korchagin, the ROGWU President, who became a member of the new council on the basis of a competitive procedure organized jointly by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy of Russia.

In accordance with the Regulation on the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the first meeting elected the chairman of the council - German Gref, president, chairman of the board of Sberbank, and deputy chairman of the council - Nikolai Rogalev, rector of the National Research Institute ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ (MPEI).

Council members approved the draft report on the implementation of the Activity Plan of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for the period 2019-2024, approved by decree of the Ministry of Energy of Russia No. 45 dated January 28, 2019, at the end of 2020. At the same time, it was noted that the main reasons for non-fulfilment of a number of measures and failure to achieve the indicators of the action plan in 2020 were the introduction of restrictive measures by the state to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population in connection with the threat of the spread of a new coronavirus infection and a decrease in electricity consumption during the period of anti-epidemiological restrictions.

Council members also planned the work of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Energy for the remaining 10 months of 2021.
