Related Trade Unions of the CIS countries exchanged human rights practices

In accordance with the work plan of the International Confederation of Oil and Gas Construction Trade Unions (MK NGSP) for 2021, on March 31, an online video meeting of legal inspectors (legal advisers) of the member organizations of MK NGSP was organized by the Russian side.

The participants of the meeting, including individual Presidents of MK NGSP member organizations, discussed problematic issues arising in the activities of national sectoral trade unions with participation in the formation and application of labour and trade union legislation, in human rights work in general in the interests of workers - members of related sectoral trade unions.

The main speakers at the meeting were representatives from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Thus, the ROGWU chief legal inspector of labor - Viktor Stakanov reported on the main trends in the development of labour relations and new forms of employment in Russia, including the digitalization of labour relations, changes in the regulation of distance employment, the development of the use of outstaffing, as well as the actions of the trade union to improve regulation labour of workers working on a rotational basis, on the participation of trade unions in improving Russian labour legislation and the practice of its application, focusing the attention of participants on the actions of Russian trade unions to maintain a balance of interests of workers and employers.

Drawing attention to the law enforcement practice, the chief legal inspector of labour of the Republican Committee of the Belkhimprofsoyuz Larisa Yurevich highlighted the negotiation of amendments to the tariff agreement, as well as the preparation of trade union proposals on the practical implementation of the provisions of collective agreements. In addition to the speech of the chief legal inspector of labour, the chairman of the Belkhimprofsoyuz - Svetlana Klochok highlighted aspects of the normative regulation of social partnership in the Republic of Belarus.

Ulugbek Gaziev, Chief Legal Counsel of the Joint Trade Union Committee of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, noted the active work of the trade union to strengthen the human rights work of trade union organizations, including improving legislation in the field of labour protection and protecting the general labour rights of workers. Thus, during a pandemic, the labour legislation introduced norms prohibiting the termination of employment contracts with employees with children under 14 years old on the initiative of the employer.

The legal labor inspector of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Trade Union Belenergotopgaz Dmitry Aleksandrovich Krasovsky shared in detail the practice of assistance provided by the trade union organization in the investigation of accidents at work, as well as the existing judicial practice.

Summing up, the meeting participants thanked each other for the information provided, and the moderator of the meeting - a member of the MK NGSP Council, the ROGWU Deputy Chairman - Vladimir Kosovich invited the participants to bring information about its results to the MK NGSP Council with a proposal to hold such meetings to exchange practical experience in human rights work at least once a year.
