VIII Trade Unity Congress Over

On September 28, the second, offline stage, of the VIII ROGWU Congress was held in Moscow.

More than 350 delegates and guests of the Congress, representatives of federal and regional legislative and executive bodies, chairmen of territorial associations of trade union organizations, as well as the leaders of sectoral trade unions of the CIS countries took part in the workshop.

In the report on the activities of the Russian Council of the Trade Union for the period from 2016 to 2020, the Chairman of the Trade Union, Alexander Korchagin, expressed confidence that “the Trade Union will maintain its integrity and unity, will make every possible effort and will do everything possible for the Man of Labor, will continue to effectively defend and protect interests of the members of the Trade Union at all levels – from regional to federal one”.

What the Congress decided: approved the reports of the Russian Council of the Trade Union and the Control and Auditing Commission, approved the Key Directions of the Trade Union's activities for the period 2021-2025, made amendments and additions to the Charter of the Trade Union.

It should be reminded that the decisions on the election of the Trade Union bodies were made by absentee voting at the first stage of the VIII Congress. The Chairman of the Trade Union – Alexander Viktorovich Korchagin, Deputy Chairmen of the Trade Union – Nadezhda Viktorovna Zvyagintseva, Vladislav Vladimirovich Zotov, Vladimir Stepanovich Kosovich, new compositions of the Russian Council of the Trade Union and the Control and Auditing Commission were elected, the Presidency of the Russian Council of the Trade Union was formed.

Pavel Zavalny, Chairman of the Energy Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, President of the All-Russian Industrial Association of Employers of the Oil and Gas Industry; Mikhail Tarasenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Secretary of the Central Council of the Mining and Metallurgical Trade Union of Russia; Anastasia Bondarenko, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation; Andrey Vetluzhskikh, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Sverdlovsk Region and others congratulated the delegates on the beginning of the VIII ROGWU Congress and wished them seminal work.

Pavel Zavalny emphasized in his speech that the ROGWU is a responsible and important partner of the employers’ association. “A constructive dialogue between our organizations, as well as an active position of the leaders and members of each of them, is a guarantee that the oil and gas industry will work effectively not only in terms of providing the economy with resources and contributions to budgets, but also in terms of ensuring decent working conditions, opportunities for development and confidence in the future of their employees,” – he noted.

“I am sure that next year, with the participation of the Russian Ministry of Energy, a new, even more socially oriented sectoral agreement will be signed,” – Anastasia Bondarenko, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, said in her welcoming speech.

Evgeny Cherepanov, Chairman of the Interregional Trade Union Organization of PJSC NK Rosneft, Pavel Fadeichev, Deputy Chairman of the Interregional Trade Union Organization Gazprom Trade Union, and Stanislav Bobryshev, Deputy Chairman of the Interregional Trade Union Organization “SIBUR Profsoyuz” also took part in the discussion of the final report of the Russian Council of the Trade Union and the report of the Control and Audit Commission.

During the VIII Congress, there was held a solemn presentation of departmental awards by the Ministry of Energy of Russia to the 14 trade union activists and veterans of the trade union movement.

On the eve of the Congress, September 27, as part of the events leading up to the second stage of the VIII ROGWU Congress, there were held a number of significant events.

There were held the meetings of the Commission of the Russian Council of the Trade Union on amendments and additions to the Charter of the Trade Union, the Youth Council of the Trade Union and the Council of the Public Organization of Veterans of the Trade Union, a meeting of the Chairman of the Trade Union Alexander Korchagin with the chairmen of territorial and interregional trade union organizations, as well as a round table of the Council of the Public Organization of Veterans of the Trade Union and the Youth Council of the Trade Union.
